What Do I Need?

It is our pleasure to work with so many wonderful, caring individuals and their families. We take pride in helping connect members of our community with available resources while providing loving, dignified care to those we serve.

We currently only offer applied behavior analysis and occupational therapy at our clinic. To receive applied behavior analysis services from our clinic, a patient/client must first have an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis from a licensed physician or licensed clinical psychologist

To receive occupational therapy, an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis is not required.  However, the individual typically must show medical necessity in order for these services to be billed to an insurance provider, and we must have an order/prescription from your medical provider for occupational therapy evaluation and treatment.

We do not presently have a physician or psychologist on-staff at our facility to provide diagnosis for autism spectrum disorder.  We are not able to provide recommendations for any specific physician or provider, but have provided a general list (below) of providers in our region who may be able to assist you further.  Further information on autism spectrum disorder and available resources for support may also be found on the Missouri Department of Mental Health website.

First Appointment

Before your first visit, a member of the Children's Behavioral Services referral team will contact you to walk you through our "intake" and orientation process.  This process allows us to gather important information about your child and answer questions you may have.

When this step is successfully completed, you will be contacted to schedule an evaluation with one of our licensed behavioral therapists. For any questions regarding insurance, billing, or payment options, please refer to our billing and insurance page.

Insurance

We are currently in-network with most major insurance companies -  state funded and private companies.  We also accept private pay for services.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding your specific coverage or if you do not see your insurance company listed.

Payments are due at time services are rendered unless prior financial arrangements have been made. Children's Behavioral Services offers financial plans for families that have copay/coinsurance/deductibles or who are paying privately for services. If outstanding balances are not paid in a timely manner Children's Behavior Services has the right to turn the account over to a third-party collections agent.

*Children's Behavioral Services obtains prior authorizations for treatments rendered.
